Hot Topics @ NPE
  • $1.00 Blue Jeans on Fridays
Students are able to wear jeans each Friday (or the last school day of the week) for $1.00. Each child that wears jeans needs to bring the dollar with them on that particular day. On those days students may wear their NPE spirit shirt or a uniform shirt. If students do not wear jeans on Fridays, they must wear their khaki bottoms. The jeans must be free of holes and other extra designs. Please help support our school in raising funds to purchase additional materials for the students.
  • Report Cards
Kindergarten and First Grade Report Cards will go home on Thursday, September 25.
  • NPE School Fundraiser
Our NPE Fundraiser continues through Friday, September 26. Please help support our school in purchasing some new technology for our students.
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences
Our second day of Parent-Teacher Conferences is Tuesday, September 30, from 3:30-7:30. Sign up for a time, if needed, and return the form to your child's teacher. That day is a regular day of school for students.
  • Rodeo Day
Wednesday, October 1, is Rodeo Day. Head Start, Kindergarten, and First Grade students may wear jeans and other western wear, if they choose. They may also just wear jeans with their uniform or spirit shirt. There will be no cost for jeans on this day.
  • LA4 Field Trip
LA4 students are going on a field trip on Wednesday, October 1, so they will not wear western clothes that day. They need to wear a yellow or blue spirit shirt and jeans or khakis.
  • School Holidays
There is no school on Thursday, October 2, for a Parish Holiday and no school on Friday, October 3, for Fair Day. Go out to the fairgrounds and enjoy the fair and the rodeo!
  • Eureka Math Information
If you visit our Useful Links page, you will see some links for Eureka Math help. In this time of curriculum transition, we know that parents have many questions about how to best help their children. These links will give you information and activities that will allow you to do just that. You can also link to the Vernon Parish website, under Links for Parents, where you will find even more information and help under the Parents tab. Continue to visit our Useful Links page and the Vernon Parish site as more information and links will be added frequently. Also be looking for Math Help newsletters to be sent home soon as well as information on some Math Help sessions we will offer in the future.
  • Parent Pick-Up
The Parent-Pick-Up line is moving much quicker now. Parent Pick-Up is from 2:40 to 3:00. Please be on time to pick up your child. If you would prefer not to have to wait in the line on a daily basis, we suggest you allow your child to ride the bus to and from school, if you live on one of our designated streets. Just let the teacher know of the change in writing.
  • 2014-15 Registrations
Right now we are only able to accept out-of-zone registrations for First Grade students. The slots for out-of-zone Kindergarten Students are full. Anyone who lives on our zoned streets is able to register.
